ExAlert is an add-in for Windows Messenger designed to inform a user about new messages received in his/her mailbox on the Microsoft Exchange 2000 server. ExAlert works together with Microsoft Outlook. When a new message is received in user`s mailbox, the Messenger shows pop-up window with message sender`s information. Clicking on the notification window opens Outlook window with the new message.
The ExAlert add-in is linking the Messenger (by providing it with information about new messages, number of unread messages in user`s mailbox, and responding to its commands to open a message for reading), user`s mailboxes on the Exchange server (by subscribing to new message notifications) and the Outlook mail client (by opening Outlook folders and messages upon Messenger`s request).
